RITUAL RHYTHMS  is an artistic research project and documentary film I am currently developing that explores festival cultures and trance states.  It investigates into how rhythmic music, dance and rituals bring us together as human beings, deepening the connection to ourselves, each other and nature.

Music, dance and trance are universal languages with far-reaching origins in ancient and indigenous cultures; they are constantly undergoing evolutionary processes. In this sense, the project examines traditional as well as new forms of festivals - celebratory and cathartic ritualistic gatherings - in which these two forms of expression play an inherent role.

 

My project partner Alexander Krueger and I hope that this mosaic of cultural portraits, practices and perspectives can help sculpt a more balanced, peaceful and compassionate future for living together.
